Goodman Sparks Laundrette & Dry Cleaning

The Goodman Sparks Group is a Sheffield based family business specialising in the supply, installation and maintenance of commercial laundry systems. Complementing this are two of our own laundry and dry cleaning centres in Sheffield. We also provide commercial flooring, curtains and blinds through our Mastercare Division.

We were first established by the Sparks family in 1968 as Sparks Launderettes at Meadowhead, Sheffield. In 1971 when Richard Goodman joined we became Goodman Sparks Limited and branched out in to the supply and fixing of machines for other people.

Since then we have seen steady growth supplying a large number of customers including care homes, hospitals and hotels. Our team of engineers cover an area from North Yorkshire down to The Midlands and we have a network of agents to cover the rest of the UK.

Whilst commercial customers account for a large proportion of our business, we still pride ourselves on our service to the Sheffield public at Ecclesall Road. The site has been part of Goodman Sparks for over 30 years. Prior to that it was know as “Sybil’s Quick Clean”. A number of the staff have been with us since the start after transferring to Goodman Sparks from Sybil’s.

We have recently invested in new equipment for the laundry, all available for customers to use on a self serve basis. The largest machine with a drum size of 240l is the biggest in Yorkshire and probably the whole of the UK, perfect for king size duvets.

Our founder and Chairman, Roger Sparks is now retired, as is Richard Goodman. The company is now managed by Roger’s son Jonathan, assisted by his wife Sally.
